How to use the CARVIN code
- Click Get the discount. carVertical opens with the code already applied.
- Enter the car’s 17-character VIN. You find it in the registration document, at the bottom of the windscreen or on the driver’s door pillar.
- carVertical shows which records it found for that VIN before you pay. If nothing useful turns up, you don’t have to buy.
- Choose 1, 2 or 3 reports and check that the basket shows the reduced price.
- Pay. The report is usually ready within a few minutes.
If the discount does not show
This happens when carVertical was opened from a bookmark or another tab. Come back to this page and use the button again, or type CARVIN where carVertical asks for a discount code. The basket total is the price you pay.
Which package should you choose?
You have already chosen one car
1 report
The lowest amount to pay: €22.39.
You are comparing two adverts
2 reports
The second report costs only €9.59 more.
You are looking at several imported cars
3 reports
The lowest price per report: €14.39.
Example: three cars at the regular price would cost €83.97; with the bundle and the CARVIN code it costs €43.18. If the first report already tells you this is the right car, the other two stay unused, so buy a bundle only when you really plan to compare several cars.
What is carVertical?
carVertical is a vehicle history service from Lithuania. You enter a car’s VIN, and it collects the records it can find about that car from registries, insurers, stolen-vehicle databases and other partners, then puts them together in one report. It covers cars registered in most of Europe and in several other countries.
What carVertical helps you with
- Spotting a rolled-back odometer before you pay for the car.
- Finding earlier damage the seller did not mention.
- Checking whether the car is listed as stolen.
- Tracing an imported car through the countries where it was registered.
- Preparing questions for the seller and for your mechanic.
What you find in a carVertical report
- Mileage historyDated odometer readings and where they come from. A reading lower than an earlier one is a warning sign.
- Damage recordsReported incidents, sometimes with an estimated repair cost.
- Photos from the pastPictures of the car from earlier adverts or auctions.
- Registration historyThe countries and dates where the car was registered, useful for imports.
- Theft checkA search in the stolen-vehicle databases carVertical can reach.
- SpecificationEngine, equipment and other factory data decoded from the VIN.
What appears depends on the VIN. See example report pages in our carVertical review.
Where the data comes from
carVertical says it takes records from national and private registries, insurers, stolen-vehicle databases and other data partners. Coverage differs from country to country, so one car can have a full report and another only a few entries.
carVertical compared with other reports
| Source | Price | Useful for |
|---|---|---|
| carVertical | €22.39 · 3 reports €43.18 | Mileage, damage and photos from many European countries |
| CARFAX Europe | €39.99 per report (checked 20 October 2026) | European and North-American records |
| Cebia | €23.90 per report (checked 20 October 2026) | Central European records |
| National official checks | Often free | Records from the country where the car is registered |

Free official checks to run first
Many countries have an official check that costs nothing. Run it first, then use a report to fill the gaps:
- United Kingdom: MOT history on GOV.UK shows test results and recorded mileage from the registration number.
- France: HistoVec, the official service the seller can share with you, covers French registration history.
- Netherlands: the RDW vehicle check includes the NAP odometer judgement.
- Poland: historiapojazdu.gov.pl shows inspection mileage since 2014 with the plate, VIN and first-registration date.
- Belgium: ask the seller for the Car-Pass certificate.
Official services cover the period a car spent in that country. For an imported car, earlier years abroad may only appear in an international report. How to check a car across European countries.
What the code and the report do not cover
- An empty section does not prove the car was never damaged. It only means carVertical found no record.
- A report does not replace a test drive and an inspection by an independent mechanic. How to check a used car before buying.
- carVertical changes its prices and promotions during the year. The prices on this page show the date they were checked, and the basket price is the one that counts.
- TopVINDecoder does not sell reports. Ordering, payment and support are handled by carVertical.
Beware of “70% off” codes
Coupon sites often list codes that promise very large discounts. Many have expired or worked only once. Before paying, compare the basket total with the table above and make sure you are on carvertical.com. If a seller sends you “their” report or a payment link, buy the report yourself: a report from the seller may be for a different VIN.
Frequently asked questions
Is there a carVertical discount code?
Yes: CARVIN. It takes 20% off every report package, and the button on this page applies it for you.
How much does a carVertical report cost?
With the CARVIN code, one report costs €22.39 instead of €27.99. Two reports cost €31.98 and three cost €43.18 (€14.39 per report). The price table on this page shows the date of the latest check.
How big is the carVertical discount?
The code itself gives 20%. Combined with the bundle price, two reports cost 43% less and three reports 49% less than the regular €27.99 per report.
Is carVertical free?
No, the report is paid. Before buying, you can see for free which types of records exist for your VIN. Several countries also offer free official checks for cars registered there.
Does CARVIN work in every country?
Yes. On 7 November 2026 we checked every carVertical country site and the code gave 20% on each. The price and currency still depend on the country.
What if the discount is not applied?
Open carVertical again through the button on this page, ideally in the same browser tab, or type CARVIN where carVertical asks for a discount code. If the price is still the regular one, contact carVertical support before paying.
